Regular sash presentations took place the week after the black sash presentation, because SUMMER! New ranks were earned by:

In over 20 years, only three had been found worthy of the coveted black sash. On this day, we added a fourth, when Danielle Stender completed the arduous requirements for that honor, and performed in front of an audience of delighted instructors and spectators. Her form of choice: baguazhang.
With ink ground by her own hand, Danielle printed her Wu Jia name into the Dragon book, as had her kung fu brothers and sisters before her.
Four of the school lions danced in her honor, including our baby lion, Haoqi (played by Morgan Waterman and Otto Felsch). The lions then presented her with the gifts of her achievement.
The drums for the ceremony were played by Saskia King; gongs, played by Lawson Maze; and cymbals, played by David Waterman. Before the altar in memory of Master Wu, the book of naming poems rested, Danielle's own pages now added. Cao-Cao, the fighting lion (played by Silvia Coffey and Keith Weber), conveyed her new sash of rank.
Kai (played by Lee Ann Haluska and Ellie Wilson), bore the plaque with the certificate of achievement.
Fu, our senior lion (played by Dani and Edi Juares), expressed his joy for the occasion with great leaps...
... before unfurling the banner with name of our newest black sash.
Respects were paid, and the newest member of our black sash group was applauded by one and all. Thank you to all those who attended to mark this rare and special occasion, and congratulations to 巫山溪!
