FEBRUARY 2003: Part II |
International Institute of Chinese Medicine |
|
Saturday February 8, 2003 As always, Chinese New Year = Crazy Schedule. We raced from the Lobos game to the Wool Warehouse, where we were to perform several lion dances and a dragon dance for the IICM. It's occasions like these where one is reminded of the value of the luxury of time to reconnoiter. Hindsight being 20/20, we probably should have spared the minute or two to brief the dragon dancers on how to handle to tight confines, and to warn the newer lion dancers about just how slippery those dance floors can be. |

We also should have reminded the team about
packing up, heading out and loading the birdmobile immediately
after the performance. After a half an hour of waiting in the
freezing cold and snow, the truck died. Which meant another
half an hour waiting in the freezing cold and snow to get it started
again. Sifu was not amused on many counts, and a stern lecture on consideration and proper etiquette at other people's parties was delivered.
