NOVEMBER 2002: Part III
(UNM Lobos Half-Time Show)

Martial Artistry at the UNM Lobos Basketball Game

Friday November 29, 2002

Are you ready to HOWL?!?!?  The UNM Lady Lobos were, and it was awesome to be there with them on the day after Thanksgiving.

There were two games that evening, and Martial Artistry's Team Steel Phoenix was invited to do both half-time shows.  What a way to work off all that Thanksgiving turkey!  The Pit was amazing, and the fans -- WOW! -- what a reception!

We had so much fun at this show.  We met Lucy Lobo, who was a scream as she did her own take on "Kung Fu Fighting".

Li, our Southern Chinese Lion, was quite smitten.  He tried to get all playful with her, but Lucy, who'd never seen such a critter before, was a little shy.  Too bad!  They made a really cute couple!

We'd gotten some really cute photos of Lucy, but -- alas! -- we suffered a fatal hard drive crash, coupled with a back-up snafu, and the majority of the photos of this event were lost forever.  We're still recovering, which is why some of the older stuff in the "Blasts from the Past" section may be unavailable, at least for a little while.

Many Martial Artistry students bought group tickets so they could watch the shows and the games, so we had quite the cheering section.

The basketball games were fast-paced and fun to watch.
