Often imitated, never duplicated -- there is not another show like this in New Mexico.  Let Martial Artistry's Team Steel Phoenix whisk your audience to the ancient land of the Middle Kingdom, where Chinese lions prance to the pounding of drums and the clash of cymbals and gongs, a seventy-five foot dragon chases the Celestial Pearl of Wisdom through the heavens, and kung fu heroes leap through the air and display their martial prowess in a manner as beautiful to behold as it is deadly in combat ...

This is a show of pageantry and history, with Northern Chinese dragon dancing, astounding high-flying acrobatics and Southern Chinese Lion Dancing to the beat of genuine Chinese instruments.   Adults and children alike will be thrilled as in the manner of  Mulan — based on a cherished Chinese tale of filial piety — Steel Phoenix presents the martial arts of China in a high-energy exhibition that brings the excitement and mystery of Chinese Wushu to life.

The optimal performance time is 30 minutes, but may be adjusted to meet the needs of the individual venue.

After the show, the audience is invited to "feed" and photograph the lions, venue permitting.  Free photographs are also offered to the audience, which our many champion performers are happy to autograph.

Requirements are: 

  • Electricity
    (Needed for our sound system, or we can use the venue's sound system if it has CD capability with microphone voice-over.  Our professional announcer and our sound manager will need to be able to see the performance area)

  • A clear, level performance area of 25 by 40 feet
    (    We can perform directly on grass, or will set up our own mats on concrete or other hard surfaces.  With notice at time of booking, show can be adjusted to fit smaller areas)

  • Ceiling height of 15 feet
    (this can also be adjusted, but may limit or exclude some aspects of the show.  Weather permitting, outdoor performances are welcome)
